The Brief
Family events are at the heart of NBCUniversal’s employee event programme - and the Trolls Band Together Family & Friends Screening was the hero family event for 2023.
An event designed to increase employee engagement, build pride in their world-class content and to continue the business’ endeavours to humanise the workplace. Employees are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work - and these events help to reinforce the business’ values of acceptance, acknowledgement and a celebration of who we are.

What We Did
Leveraging NBCUniversal’s iconic IP from the Trolls franchise, we designed and produced the annual screening event with ‘fun in the foyer’ activities suitable for the whole family. The event was hosted at ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, home to London’s most iconic film premieres and further enhancing the feeling of recognition for employees.
Guests were greeted by impressive theming and decoration - underpinned by the films creative, and translated into a premium in-person guest experience. Inspiration was taken by the film’s characters and plot, with spaces transformed into locations from the Trolls’ world - from Vacay Island to the World of Mount Rageous. Hero artwork was installed across the venue, creating organic photo backdrops and enhanced digital displays allowing for multiple comms opportunities.
Activities were designed and programmed with the whole family in mind, and with a focus on accessibility and inclusivity - creating opportunities for in person connections and supporting the business’ ambition to break down silos within the workplace. Activities ranged from dance lessons on the LED dancefloor with our choreographer, a makeover zone complete with face painting and Trolls hair styling - as well as the always popular meet & greet with life size characters Poppy & Branch.
The Result
The event encouraged connection between employees, but also provided a connection back to the business through the impressive film content.
With an employee satisfaction rating of 4.92/5 stars for the overall experience, our activities scored highest in terms of engagement and experience. 92% of employees surveyed said that these events make them feel more connected to their colleagues, as well as to the wider business.
